Ebay is a wonderful selling platform, but sadly there tends to buy lots of scammers on the platform. If you use common sense and follow these simple guidelines then you will usually be perfectly fine and will be able to easily avoid any sort of scams.
• Remember to turn off returns and make it clear in your listing that returns/refunds/cancellations aren't possible under any circumstances. • Make sure you have received payment before shipping the item. Usually it will appear immediately in your PayPal, but with offers buyers aren't required to pay immediately, so remember to verify that the funds are in your PayPal (It's okay if it shows that the funds are on hold) •Try to only sell to buyers with some feedback. • Never sell to brand new accounts (Can be found by going onto the buyers Ebay profile) • Always purchase additional shipping insurance if your current shipping option doesn't cover the full amount of the product • Remember to add on the "Signature Required" option, even if it costs a bit extra. • When you drop off your package at USPS/UPS/FedEx, ALWAYS ask for a drop off receipt and keep your receipt until the sale is complete. • Only ship within the 48 contagious United States and don't ship to PO boxes. When creating a listing your shipping exclusions should look like this.
• Usually this isn't necessary, but if you are selling an extremely high value item then you should take the precaution of recording yourself packing the order and shipping it out. Doing this will make it basically impossible for the buyer to file a dispute and try to get their money back.
